The Warzone's Risen LMG: A Shift in Play

An in-depth exploration of the underrated Light Machine Gun (LMG) from Warzone gaining momentum after a surprise upgrade, and how a solitary attachment propels it to viability.

The gaming landscape of Warzone has been continually shifting. In the past, one could observe a particular weapon taking over the meta, ruling the gameplay. However, the recent Season 1 Reloaded and Season 2 have dispersed this characteristic trait, ushering in a truly diverse meta.

The gaming arena was predominantly seen commandeered by standout options like the SVA 545, MTZ-762, the BP50, and the Striker 9. The Striker experienced another twist with its damage ranges increasing in the recent February 13 update. This boost, however, came with a downside - an increased level of recoil, specifically to its horizontal recoil, by a substantial 70%.

In the latest overhaul, the dual dominance of the SMG and the TAQ Evolvere received an unexpected boost, with the later having its damage increased across the board. What's interesting is the use of the 556 ammo type in the TAQ Evolvere, which thrusts this LMG into serious contention, especially for mid-range combat.

The Warzone

WhosImmortal, one of the well-versed Warzone enthusiasts, spotlighted the buffs of the LMG soon after the recent patch. He lauded the 556 ammo type for rendering the LMG “distinctive” among the sea of weapons.

'The TAQ Evolvere is amazing.', exclaimed WhosImmortal. 'Its fire rate is astonishing and changes the dynamics to a more close to mid-range style weapon. The 556 rounds compromise the range slightly. But, it compensates with an impressive fire rate. It also simplifies the visual recoil.'

Stats expert JGOD also shared similar thoughts about the LMG, describing the TAQ Evolvere’s Time To Kill (TTK) as “slightly intense” post the buff.

WhosImmortal further extolled the TAQ’s strafe speed and control prowess. It carries minimal recoil alongside the bolstered strength. He outlined the recommended TAQ Evolvere loadout.

Starting with the muzzle, the Casus Break is the first choice. The barrel to be opted for is the LRF Righteous long barrel. The underbarrel is the Hound-96 Grip whereas the magazine is the 100-round 556 Belt. Finally, the stock preferred is the Rampart Heavy Stock.

The 556 ammo selection overshadows its 762 counterparts. WhosImmortal referred to the 762 rounds as “clumsy”. This complimenting the overall superior functionality of the 556 rounds.

If the TAQ Evolvere continues its current form, the developers might have to reassess its dominating performance. However, currently, it’s both enjoying a fun ride and setting itself as a primary player in this meta.
